Main Responsibilities and Duties:

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret Portuguese and EU tax legislation affecting the business
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including service, commercial, and cross-border agreements
• Provide legal support on matters involving corporate taxation, VAT, and fiscal incentives , particularly related to the Madeira Free Trade Zone (Zona Franca da Madeira)

Role Overview:

As a Senior Accountant with expertise in European tax, you will be responsible for managing financial operations in compliance with both Portuguese accounting standards and EU-wide tax regulations. You will support cross-border financial activities, ensure accurate tax filings across multiple jurisdictions, and advise on international tax matters affecting the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records in accordance with Portuguese GAAP and IFRS

• Prepare and file VAT returns and corporate tax declarations across multiple EU countries

• Monitor and interpret changes in EU tax directives and national legislation

• Ensure compliance with transfer pricing rules and documentation requirements
