This is your opportunity to be an integral part of the central data platform team within Kuehne+Nagel which designs and implements our data mesh approach on a cloud transformation program. From Porto, you shape infrastructure, tools, and processes to enable our analytics and operational teams in sharing and using data around the company. Sounds like a perfect next step in your career? Your Role You will help to design and set up a modern data architecture for our company, fitting the needs of a data-driven logistics enterprise, and ensuring that cloud-based infrastructure is utilized as efficiently as possible across data science products and projects. You champion practices like big data processing, cloud development and warehousing within the data platform team and integrate them with surrounding infrastructure and processes. Your Responsibilities

  • Build and run the data platform infrastructure and operations with a mindset of true end-to-end responsibility;
  • Build and maintain guidelines, operation and blueprints for modern data processing and transformation tools (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Support data products through their entire lifecycle - from ideation and specification, architectural design, prototyping and integration into productive systems;
  • Continuously refine our technology landscape by evaluating new tools and technologies;
  • Provide and maintain infrastructure templates shared with data product projects.
Your Skills and Experiences
  • Advanced hands-on experience with big data architectures in enterprise settings, as well as with the corresponding systems and tools; (Snowflake is a plus)
  • Experience with data pipelines involving relational as well as NoSQL databases in distributed environments;
  • You have ample hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (optimally AWS);
  • You have an attitude to build solutions that do not “reinvent the wheel” but can rather themselves serve as blueprints for tackling similar or even new challenges;
  • Collaborative work in international teams inspires you.
